Fine Arts

At Flatirons Academy, we believe the fine arts are an essential part of a student's education and spiritual formation. Through visual arts, band, choir, creative writing, and performance, students cultivate creativity, pursue excellence, and develop an appreciation for truth, goodness, and beauty.

Stewarding God-Given Gifts

From kindergarten through twelfth grade, students explore a variety of artistic disciplines while learning to steward their God-given gifts and use them for the glory of God.

Concert Band

“Learning collaboration through musical excellence.”

Band teaches students to combine individual excellence with collective purpose. Flatirons Academy’s Band program equips students to develop technical skill, musical artistry, and disciplined practice while learning the value of teamwork, perseverance, and servant leadership. As each instrument contributes to the whole, students experience the joy of creating something beautiful together for the glory of God.

Band students perform throughout the school year in concerts and special events, growing in both musical ability and the confidence to use their gifts to serve others.

Choir

“Joining voices in harmony, beauty, and worship.”

Singing together is one of the most beautiful expressions of truth, unity, and worship. Flatirons Academy’s Choir program develops confident musicians who pursue excellence while learning to listen, collaborate, and contribute their unique gifts to something greater than themselves. Through vocal training and ensemble performance, students cultivate discipline, creativity, and an appreciation for beauty that reflects the goodness of God.

Throughout the school year, choir students participate in concerts and special performances that provide meaningful opportunities to grow as musicians while encouraging and serving the school community through music.

Speech & Debate

“Communicating truth with wisdom, courage, and grace.”

The ability to speak truth with wisdom, clarity, and conviction is an essential part of a Christian liberal arts education. Flatirons Academy’s Speech & Debate program develops articulate communicators who think critically, reason carefully, and engage others with both confidence and Christlike humility. Through competition, students learn to defend ideas with integrity, listen respectfully, and communicate persuasively in service to truth.

Throughout the school year, students participate in CHSAA speech and debate events that challenge them to grow intellectually, communicate effectively, and represent Christ and Flatirons Academy with excellence.

Studio Art

“Creating with imagination, craftsmanship, and purpose.”

Because we are created in the image of our Creator, artistic expression is an important part of a Christian liberal arts education. Flatirons Academy’s Studio Art program develops students who see the world with curiosity, create with craftsmanship, and pursue beauty with wisdom and purpose. Through disciplined practice and thoughtful critique, students learn to communicate truth, cultivate imagination, and faithfully steward the creative gifts God has entrusted to them.

Students explore a variety of artistic media and techniques throughout the year while developing both technical proficiency and a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts.

Private Music Lessons

“Refining individual gifts through disciplined practice.”

Music is an important part of a well-rounded liberal arts education. Flatirons Academy offers private, on-campus music lessons that make it convenient for students to develop their musical gifts without adding to busy family schedules. Weekly instruction with experienced private teachers complements our music program by cultivating discipline, creativity, excellence, and a lifelong love for music.

Students enroll for the school year and receive weekly lessons that closely follow the academic calendar. Each year concludes with a recital that gives students the opportunity to share and celebrate their progress.
