Flatirons Academy Athletics

Counter-cultural, formative athletics grounded in Christian theology  where competition shapes character, builds community, and gives glory to God.

Our Approach

Trust. Commit. Compete.

TRUST

We develop a trust in the competency, integrity, and motivation of each other.

COMMIT

We are faithful to our teammates, our school, and our community; we do what we say we are going to do, including the willingness to sacrifice other good things for the sake of the good of the team.

COMPETE

We give our best effort to win for the glory of God, the love of our team, the joy of the game, and the dignity of our opponent. We do so with honor and humility.

What Sets Us Apart

Athletic Distinctives

Formative Athletics

In a single season, students establish habitual discipline, endure physical exhaustion and mental strain, experience failure, and enjoy success in an environment designed to norm behavior oriented to the God of the Bible.

Team First

We develop individual potential for the purpose of program improvement and broad student involvement, not equal playing time or a recreational atmosphere. We avoid anything that exalts the individual over the team.

Sports Performance Training

Starting in 6th grade, a sports performance program with designated facilities and a dedicated coach helps students learn body control, maximize potential, and prevent injury.

Multi-sport Mentality

Programs are designed with aligned schedules to encourage two- and three-sport athletes. Even off-season training compliments in-season participation, and coaches encourage participation in multiple school sports.

Uncommon Consistency

Athletes are expected to attend every practice and game. Any exceptions will be considered by the coach and athletic department based on the circumstances and the best interests of the team.

Respect for the Game

Nothing extra is needed to make a game special. It is special in itself. Playing hard, finishing well, and shaking hands with an opponent afterward is truly significant and real success.

Beyond the Team

More Ways To Train & Compete

From our youngest Bison to off-season athletes, there's a place to develop, compete, and grow year-round.

FYS

Flatirons Youth Sports

Grades 3–5

A thoughtfully designed athletic program for Flatirons Academy students in grades 3–5 builds athletic capacity through competitive development while encouraging students to engage with God and His creation.

From Him. through Him. TO him.

Summer Sports Performance

Grades 6-12

Our summer sports performance program trains athletes to be explosive and intentional with their movement, developing body control, speed, and strength so Bison return to their sport stronger and better prepared.

Game Day

Pep Band

Grades 6–12

The soundtrack of Bison game days, Pep Band puts student musicians right in the middle of the action. Open to students in grades 6–12, musicians bring energy to home games, rallies, and school celebrations while building their skills, playing great music, and fueling Bison spirit.
