My years at Flatirons Academy have shaped a better understanding of my faith, and more importantly, of our Creator. This school showed me that God is seen far more than just within church walls or a theology classroom. He is in every subject, every season, and every circumstance.

The biggest way I have grown is in my knowledge of the Bible and of God. Through four years of Bible classes, mission trips, chapel, and deep spiritual conversations with people here, I have truly come to know Jesus. I know God wanted me at this school and I am a different person because of it.

Growing up in a Christian school, I recognize the privilege I had to mature alongside like-minded peers and authority figures. The love I was shown by teachers and classmates transformed my idea of God from a Creator to a Father.

Theology classes at Flatirons have helped me grow in a deeper understanding of the gospel and the history of the church. Since my freshman year, my relationship with God has become stronger, and I attribute much of that to how Flatirons has encouraged me to live out my faith every day.

Through this community and school, I have learned about other worldview beliefs and how to respond to them thoughtfully while staying grounded in my own. I’ve also grown in my curiosity and desire to read the Bible for myself, to deepen my knowledge and understanding of God.

Through high school I learned what it truly means to be a follower of Christ. Christianity is not a class credit you earn to graduate, it is not just a title, and it is not one day a week at church. It begins with believing Jesus saved you from your sin and becomes a lifelong process of becoming more like Him.

Flatirons Academy transformed the way I see my identity. I learned that my worth isn't found in volleyball or my achievements, but in Christ. Through incredible mentors, challenges, and a mission trip to Uganda, I experienced God's faithfulness firsthand and discovered that life is ultimately about the work He is doing in and through me.

God has transformed and renewed my mind through the people at this school. My faith started purely as an extension of my parents’ faith; compartmentalized, immature, not yet my own. These mentors and opportunities slowly grew it into a real relationship. Jesus is no longer someone I visit on Sundays, but my best friend.

Since starting at Flatirons Academy in elementary school, I have grown from simply learning about God to knowing Him personally as faithful, loving, and always present. Through teachers, mentors, friendships, and opportunities like my mission trip to Uganda, God has strengthened my faith and shown me the joy of serving others. Looking back, I can see His faithfulness in every season, and I trust He will continue to guide my life.

Through chapel messages this past year, I have learned spiritual disciplines that are not meant to limit my life, but to let me experience the abundant life found when God has control. I have been so blessed by the grace and love of God demonstrated through the teachers, coaches, and peers at this school.
