The path to teaching Second Grade at CCA was not a direct route for Beth Floyd.  Growing up in Kentucky, with a strong family, she can look back now and say that something in her always wanted to teach.

Beth’s original dream was to work for a Christian Publishing house writing Sunday School Curriculum, and yet doors continued to open up for her to aide and co-teach in Christian schools.  With a growing desire to educate, she pursued her Masters degree from Regis University in Elementary Education and began teaching at Cornerstone in 2013.   Elements of her original dream have stayed consistent as she pursues writing children’s books as a hobby and hopes to one day get them published.  Her passion is to unlock mysteries for children, whether through stories, writing, or figuring out how to adapt a lesson to a specific child’s learning style.  She admits that the challenge of meeting varying child’s needs can be difficult, but so rewarding!

Within her classroom, Beth also works to create a Christian Worldview and a desire to love and serve others.  For 16 years her parents have served as missionaries in Romania establishing and managing private Christian orphanages.  Beth is thrilled to be able to connect her 2nd graders to this ministry, as they learn about Romania, watch videos about the need in the orphanages and then do a new underwear collection for those children.

Beth, her husband and their 3 children also love the outdoors, and often spend their free time skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and backpacking.   We are so thankful for Beth and the skill, attention to detail and the heart that she pours into our students at CCA!
