Reed Doughty - Athletic Director
Coach Doughty earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2005. He was a four year starter for the Bears football team earning All-American and Academic All-American honors during his tenure. Coach Doughty was inducted into the UNC Hall of Fame in 2011. The Washington Redskins selected Coach Doughty with the 173rd pick of the 2006 NFL draft. He went on to play in 107 games starting 54 of those contests during his 8 year NFL career. Coach Doughty and his wife, Katie, have three sons, Micah, Caleb and Samuel, and a daughter, Isabel.

Jared Wallen - Head Coach, High School Football
Appointed 2016. Coach Wallen was a four-year starter on the defensive line for the University of Northern Colorado Bears, finishing with 146 career tackles, 17.5 career tackles for loss and nine career sacks. He garnered All-Conference honors following his senior season. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northern Colorado, helping with the defensive line for two years. He moved on to the high school ranks, joining Greeley Central High School, where he served as the varsity defensive coordinator for six seasons. Coach Wallen earned his first head coaching opportunity at Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, CO, where he lead the Rams for three season. He has also been instrumental in creating the off-season athletic development program and strength training program for his football teams. As a head Coach Wallen has guided 17 players to All-Conference honors with one of those players earning All-State honors. Under his mentorship three of his athletes went on to play at the collegiate level. As a position coach he has led numerous players to post season honors including: 28 All Conference,and 2 All-State players. Seven of those athletes moved on to the college football ranks. Coach Wallen and his wife, Kirsten, have two sons, Roy and Silas.

Mitch Doughty - Middle School Football Coach
Coach Doughty help start the football program for both the Middle School and High School teams prior to the 2010 season while serving as the High School Principal at Flatirons Academy (formerly Cornerstone Christian Academy). Coach Doughty has coached the middle school team five of the program's six seasons, while coaching the high school team during the 2013 campaign. Coach Doughty’s teams have annually ranked in the top of the league. Coach Doughty played two seasons collegiately at Sterling College (Sterling, KS) contributing on special teams and starting his senior season at defensive end. Coach Doughty is assisted by his father, Marlon, who has 35+ years of experience coaching football at the middle school level.
Education/Professional — Mr. Doughty graduated summa cum laude from Sterling college in Kansas with a bachelor of science in biology and minors in chemistry and religion and philosophy. He completed his master of arts in philosophy of religion with honors of Denver seminary. He has been on staff at Flatirons Academy since 2004.
Tarabeth Cole - Head Coach, High School Volleyball
Appointed 2017.. She brings impressive playing credentials to the position including: 8 years of club, 4 years of Varsity at The Academy, and 1 year of college at Northeastern Junior College (NJC Sterling, CO). She has experience coaching youth volleyball camps and brings her passion of coaching and mentoring young girls to Flatirons Academy.
Coach Cole is married to her husband Andrew.

Teresa Doughty - Head Coach, MS Volleyball
Appointed 2017. Coach Jeff Wilson is a Colorado native, and played his HS ball at Columbine. He continued his basketball career at the collegiate ranks, playing two years at Otero Junior college, and two years at Colorado Christian University (CCU).
Coach Wilson has coached over 40 youth teams over a number of years. He is also coming off of a very successful seven-year run as an assistant basketball coach and team chaplain at Valor Christian School, where he began coaching HS basketball in 2009. Over a seven year stretch Coach Wilson helped coach teams that reached the Final 4 three times, and he has coached 27 kids who have went on to compete in college athletics. Twelve of those athletes played for or are currently playing for Division 1 schools.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Kristen, for 23 years. Together, they have 3 children.
Mike Durrill - Head Coach, High School Girls Basketball
Appointed 2010. Coach Durrill coached the schools boys basketball program for five seasons before taking over the girls basketball team for the 2015-2016 season. While at the helm of the boys program he led the 2014-2015 team to the Conference Final Four, and twice led them to playoff appearances (2013/2014). He coached several players to All-Conference and All-State honors: Michael Durrill 1st Team All-State/1st Team All-Conference and Robert Mulford 2nd Team All-State, 2nd Team All-Conference. The lady Bulldogs had a record of 9-9 in 2015-2016 and look to build off of the momentum from last season.
Coach Durill played four years of Intramural basketball at Bob Jones University where he was selected 1st Team All-School. Coach Durrill and his wife Diana have five children: Michael, Morgan, Bryn , Kenlee and Josiah.

Patrick McGuin - Middle School Boys Basketball Coach
Appointed 2015. Coach McGuin led the Middle School Boys Basketball team to a very strong showing in his inaugural season as head coach. Capping a successful season, the team earned a spot in the championship bracket where they advanced to the championship game finishing in second place. Previously, Coach McGuin served as the Middle School Boys Basketball Coach at Wuhan Yangtze International School where he coached his team to a winning record as one of the top teams in the league. He also teaches various History and Religious Studies classes at Flatirons Academy. Coach McGuin and his wife, Amy, have four sons: Micah, Evan, Elliot and Hudson.

Eric Rakers - Middle School Girls Basketball Coach
Dustin Conley - Head Coach, High School Baseball
Appointed 2018. Coach Conley is beginning his inaugural season at the helm of the baseball program. The team is coming of their finest season-to-date, finishing 16-3 on the road to becoming District Champs, while securing a berth to State. The Bison return several key contributors and under Coach Conley's guidance, are poised for another post-season run.
Coach Conley is a Pomona HS graduate, where he was a 3 year Varsity letterman in Football and Baseball. He earned All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors in baseball during his prep career. Coach Conley competed collegiately for two years at Otero Junior College where he was first team All-Region, before taking his talents to Colorado Christian University, were he finished his last two years of NCAA eligibility.
Coach Conley has extensive experience as a private hitting instructor, club coach and camp director for youth and high school players. He also has experience as an Assistant Baseball Coach for Arvada High School.
Coach Conley is engaged to his fiance, Hanah.

James Rowan - Head Coach, Middle School Baseball
Appointed to lead the inaugural MS Baseball program in Spring of 2018. Coach Rowan is a native of Colorado and has been a part of the Flatirons Academy family since 2008. He was a three sport athlete at Highland High School (Thornton, CO), playing football, basketball and baseball. Coach Rowan has almost 20 years of coaching experience in baseball, basketball and football. He has coached all levels and ages of youth baseball, including HS baseball. His extensive coaching experience and vast baseball knowledge make him a great fit to lead our MS baseball program.

Amy Downey - Head Coach, High School Girls Soccer
Appointed 2014. Coach Downey his wrapped up her 3rd campaign and finest to date as head coach of the Girls Soccer Program. The Lady Bulldogs are 27-17-1 all-time under Coach Downey's tutelage with three consecutive playoff appearances (2014-3A, 2014/2015-2A). During the recent 2016 season, the Lady Bulldogs were Regional Champs and 2A State Quarterfinalists. They finished the regular season ranked #3 in the State of Colorado in the 2A polls. Coach Downey has coached numerous athletes to post-season honors including several all-state athletes.
Coach Downey has been playing soccer for 27 years, competing at the 6A level in Kansas City as a starting left midfielder in high school. She played club soccer for Kansas State University for one season and has played indoor soccer since 2005. She continues to love getting out on the pitch, whether as a player or coach. Coach Downey has been married to her husband, Ben, for 13 years. They have 3 daughters who love being a part of the CCA community and are the soccer team’s biggest fans.

Troy Boyer - Middle School Girls Soccer Coach
Coach Boyer is an Alum. He has been teaching PE and Coaching at Flatirons Academy since 2006. He coached a very successful HS boys soccer program to an overall record of 33-1-4, with back to back FRCAA Championships in 2006/2007 and a CHSAA 3A playoff berth the following year. Coach Boyer earned the 2006 League Spiritual Impact Award and guided two players to All-Conference honors. Coach Boyer then took over the middle school girls soccer program. Coach Boyer played collegiately at Sterling College (Sterling, KS) and started as left wing as a Freshman. Coach Boyer and his wife Megan have two daughters; Katie and Ella.

Tommy Thomas - Golf Coach
Appointed 2011. Coach Thomas played on the PGA Tour and then served as the PGA Head Professional for 28 years at Inwood Country Club (retired as Pro Emeritus) in Long Island, New York. He is currently the Tournament Director for the Tommy Thomas Pro-Am Golf Tournaments and on the Colorado PGA Junior Golf Committee where he plays an active role in all of the junior golf activities in the state of Colorado.
At Flatirons Academy, Coach Thomas runs a golf in the schools program, in coordination with the Flatirons Academy PE classes, for all K-8 students. Coach Thomas also runs summer program for K-12 students.
